Biography

Henry is person 872 in DJB. He grad. Williams College, 1817; studied law in Lenox; opened law office in Richmond 1821 ; appointed Register of Probate for Berks. Co., 1826, resigning after 25 yrs. to accept seat upon Bench of the Court of Common Pleas; 1850 Democratic candidate for Governor; member of Constitutional Convention 1849; represented district in Mass. legislature 1860; appointed trustee for Williams Coll., 1847-1870; rec'd degree of LL. D. from this coll.; Jeffersonian Democrat in pols.
