Adolphus was born in 1790 to John and Rebecca Bixbee. [1]
Dolphus, son of John and Rebecca (Goodell) Bixby; born Jan 7, 1790; married Jan 1813, Achsa, daughter of Robert and Abigail (Jones) Carr. He was a 'moving planet', living in several towns in this part of New Hampshire, besides several in Vermont. He had a penchant for buying old orchards, selling the timber to be manufactured into shuttles, for which use it was well adapted on account of the hardness and smoothness of the wood. His first wife died in 1864 and he married second, Lydia Jones. She lived only a short time after their marriage. He died at the home of his son Russell in Marlborough [New Hampshire]. [2]
He passed away in 1886. [3]
He is buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Marlborough, New Hampshire. [4]
