Biography
John Bizer was born at Tilfengen, Germany, April 16, 1867. The first 20 years of his life, Rev. Bizer spent in Germany, coming to the United States in 1887 to enter Eden Seminary, St. Louis, Mo., to study for the ministry. At the completion of his seminary course Rev. Bizer went to Shelby, Iowa, to take charge of his first parish. On October 10, 1894, he was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Reichert in the town of Russell, Sheboygan County. Seven children were born to this union, one of whom died in infancy, while Bizer’s were still at Shelby.
From Iowa the Bizers moved to Sheboygan County, where Rev. Bizer had charge of the parishes in the towns of Mosel and Meeme. In 1906 he and his family were transferred to Colby where he served as pastor for seven years, after which time they moved to Medford to serve there and at Dorchester, Wis. [1]
