Biography

Samuel Peter Björkgren was born 22 March 1767 in Vimmerby, Kalmar, Sweden.[1]

He married Johanna Lillberg or Liljeberg.[2] They probably had several children, perhaps the following:

  2. Samuel Gustaf Björkgren (1796–1849)
  3. Josua Wilhelm Björkgren (1798–1838)
  4. Hedvig Elisabeth Björkgren (1800–1882)

  7. Anna Ulrica Björkgren (1807– )
  8. Georg Fredrik Björkgren (1809–1841)

Samuel died 13 Mar 1858 in Västra kvarteret, Vimmerby, Kalmar aged 90.[3][4]

I was unable to completely decipher his name from the baptism record as it seems smudged, but I have difficulty reading the language so maybe you can see something there that I can't? Only his burial record shows the Björkegren spelling clearly. The Geni profile shows that spelling but it is unsourced. For now I've added it as an other last name. Additional clarification would be most welcome - Thanks for your comment!

Yes, I agree the birth records are hard to read clearly. I had several pages of the "Mantalslängder" open at the time I wrote the comment but forgot to add them. Some years are easier to read than other but all say Björkegren or Biörkegren. Here are some examples regarding Johan Björkegren, the father:
