Biography

Mary was born in 1841. She is the daughter of Abraham Black and Ellen Davidson.

In 1850 she was 8 and living with parents and siblings in Illinois. [1]

She married James Thomas Scott in 1860. [2]

In 1880 she was living in Illinois with 8 children: Fannie, Laura, Thomas, Ellen, George, Grace, Birtie and Cora. [3]

Their daughter Laura married in 1882. [4]

Their daughter Fannie A Scott married in 1885. [5]

Their son Henry married in 1887. [6]

In 1888 their daughter Nellie married in Illinois. [7]

Their son Thomas married in 1890. [8]

Thomas married again in 1894. [9]

Their daughter Grace married in 1896. [10]

Their son George married in 1899. [11]

In 1900 Mary was a widow and living in Illinois with three adult children: Henry, G Burton and Cora B. [12]

Their son Guy married in 1904. [13]

In 1910 she was living in Illinois. Living with her were her son Henry, son George, daughter Cora and granddaughter Lola. [14]

Possibly buried in Mount Zion Township Cemetery, Mount Zion, Macon County, Illinois. No headstone photo. [15]

Their daughter Laura Ann (Scott) Cox died in 1929. [16]

Their daughter Fannie A (Scott) Roberts passed in 1931. [17]

Their son Thomas passed in 1931. [18]

Their daughter Lona Grace (Scott) Ground passed in 1931. [19]
