James (Thomas?) Black was born in 1720 in Londonderry County, Ireland (Some sites have it as Lancaster Pennsylvania but no documentation is provided). He immigrated to America in 1754 and landed in Philadelphia, Province of Pennsylvania where he lived for a number of years. He married Elizabeth Agnes Rogers (1728-1804) of Hanover on 07 Oct 1756 In Conewago, Adams County, Province of Pennsylvania. They lived in Lancaster County, Province of Pennsylvania before coming to Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, where he died 21 March 1818 at the age of 98. He is buried in Rocky River Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Rocky River, Cabarrus County, North Carolina, USA.
Elizabeth Agnes Rogers (Rodgers) was born (1728) in Hanover, York County, Province of Pennsylvania, according to marriage record. Elizabeth Agnes Rogers Black died in 1804 and is buried in Rocky Spring Meeting House Burial Ground, Mint Hill, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina (May be incorrect).
