Lucretia Blackman was born at Maidstone, Kent, England, in 1796, and christened 27 NOV 1796 at Rochester, Kent. She was christened as Letty Blackman, daughter of William Blackman & Mary.
She married James Elphick at Hastings, Sussex, England, on 11 NOV 1816[1] Their children included:
James aged 41 and Lucretia aged 42 came to Australia as assisted immigrants on the ship 'Juliana'. The Juliana was shipwrecked on 19 Jan 1839 off Capetown, South Africa. The ships Mary Hay and Morayshire were contracted to transport the immigrants the remainder of the voyage.
James and Lucretia, their son James ?(21)? and his wife Frances ?(20)?, their other son Stephen ?(18)? and daughter Sarah ?(16)? were passengers on the Morayshire which arrived in Sydney on 20 April 1839.[2]
She died at Lane Cove, New South Wales, on 25 Aug 1842.
