Biography

Harry was born in 1869.[1] He is the son of Frederick Blackman and Ellen Bell. He passed away in 1951.[2] He is buried in the Mt Thompson Memorial Gardens and Crematorium. [3]

In 1903, Harry married Jessie Murray.[4]

Last month, Mr. Harry Blackman, of Greenvale Station, was wedded to Miss Jessie Murray, Brisbane. The Blackman family are well-known squatters.[5]

Harry and Jessie had a number of children the first of which were:

  1. Alice May Blackman (1905-)
  2. Harold Blackman (1906-1975)
  3. Jessie Grace (Blackman) Perrett (1910-1999)
  4. Esther Ellen Blackman (1911-2005)
  5. Rita Mary Blackman (1917-)
  6. Phillip Blackman (abt.1930-abt.2010)

At least one of their sons was born in 1923 while they were living at Bungulban.

BLACKMAN-At the Graham Hospital Murgon to Mr and Mrs Harry Blackman of Bungulban Oakview Kingaroy Line-a son.[6]

Mt. Thompson. — CANNON A CRIPPS LTD.. Funeral Directors.
BLACKMAN Tuscan Lodge, No. 235, U.G.L.Q. -The Officers and Brethren are invited to attend the Funeral of Mr. Harry Blackman. Father of Bro. P. A Blackman. to leave as per Familv Notice, by Older of the W.M.[7]

Harold was likely one of the children raised in Tasmania and returned to Queensland in 1881.
