Biography

Ila Meredith Blackman was born on 18 Dec 1900;[1] she was the daughter of Walter Blackman and Louisa Stublefield.[2]

In 1910,[2] Ila M. Blackman (age 9, born Alabama) was living in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama in the household of her father, Walter W. Blackman (age 34, born Alabama), with her mother, Laurie [sic] Blackman (age 28, born District of Columbia), and her brother Richard G. Blackman (3, M). This was the 2nd marriage for Walter and the 1st marriage for Louisa. Walter's occupation was a cartoonist for a newspaper. Louisa had born 2 children, both of whom were currently living.

On 15 Sep 1920 in Holt, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama,[3] [4] Ila Meredith Blackman married Preston S. Findley. The marriage ceremony was conducted in the home of Ila's uncle, Arthur W. Blackman.

In 1930,[5] Ila Findley (age 29, born Alabama) was living in Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama in the household of her husband of 10 years, Preston S. Findley (age 36, born Alabama), with their daughter, Ida L. Findley (age 7, born Alabama). Preston's occupation was a civil engineer.

In 1940,[6] Ila B. Findly (age 39, born Alabama) was living in Alberta City, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama in the household of her husband, Preston S. Findley (age 45, born Alabama), with their daughter, Ida Louise Findley (age 17, born Alabama); also in the household was Ila's uncle, Thaddeus Frink (age 82, born Alabama).

In 1950,[7] Ila B. [sic] Findley (age 49, born Alabama) was living at 2626 7th Street, Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama in the household of her husband, Preston S. Findley (age 58, born Alabama). Preston's occupation was a civil engineer.

Ila B. Fidley (age 94, born 18 Dec 1900) died in May 1994 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama,[1] and she was buried in the Tuscaloosa Memorial Park, Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama.[8]
