Obituary "Levi S. Blackman, son of the late Levi S. Blackman of Davenport, passed passed away last night at 11:15 at his home, 4204 Fifth avenue Rock Island, after a three-weeks three-weeks three-weeks -illness -illness with typhoid typhoid fever. He was born in Scott county, Io., Sept. 23, 1858, and was ma? ried in Davenport to Ida E. Coleman March 6, 1879. One son, Earl, died in infancy and an only daughter, Amy, died in her sixteenth year in 1896. His w?dow and two sons, Herbert G. of South Moline and Dewey Lee, at the home survive to mourn the loss of a kind husband and father. Remaining relatives are four grandchildren, also six brothers, as follows: Rush E. of Chicago,- Chicago,- Chicago,- Ludwig D. in the state of "Washington, "Washington, E. A. of Cambridge, 111., A. J. and F. L. Blackman of Kansas City, S. G. of Los Angeles, Cal., two sisters, Mrs. James Lightford of Chicago and Mrs. Mary Schnoor of Los Angeles, also several neices and nephews. His widow attended the funeral of her mother in Davenport, February 22 after attending her during a nine-days nine-days nine-days illness with pneumonia. Mr. Blackman was a member of the Home Fraternal Fraternal league. Funeral arrangements will be announced later."[1]
