Fellow at Oxford
The following announcement of his first marriage appeared in the Bath Chronicle and Weekly Gazette dated 14 February 1822 [1]
At Newton Nottage, Glamorganshire Rev. John Blackmore, fellow of Exeter College, Oxon, to Anne Bassett Knight, second daughter of the late Rev. Robert Knight.
And another announcement appeared in The Star, London dated 18 February 1822 [2]
February 2nd, at Newton, Nottage, Glamorganshire, the Rev. John Blackmore, Fellow of Exeter College, Oxford to Anne Bassett, second daughter of the late Rev. Robert Knight, formerley of Tewkesbury, and niece of Col. Knight of Tythegston.
Johns second wife was Charlotte Ann Platt, who he married on 1 November 1831 in Bushey, Hertfordshire [3]. The marriage witnesses were Alexander Platt, clerk, Sarah Senhouse?, Hannah Moore and F.J. Moore [4]
John passed away in Bridgend in 1858, he was said to be 63 years old. [5]
BLACKMORE (proved 7 Jan 1859) The will of the Reverend John Blackmore late of Ashford in the County of Devon, clerk, deceased, who died 25 September 1858 at Nottage Court, near Bridgend, Glamorgan was proved at Exeter by the oaths of the Reverend Samuel Davis, of Burrington in the said county of Devon, clerk, and Richard Doddridge Blackmore, of Hampton Wick in the county of Middlesex, Esquire, the son, the executors.
