notice of the arrival of the steamship Rotorua in Sydney on 28 August 1877 ex Auckland with passengers Mrs and Mrs Blackmore on board. These Blackmores were possibly Charles and Annie Boyd returning to Sydney from their marriage in Auckland before moving to Wagga Wagga - the year and places are consistent.

After returning to Sydney from time in Wagga Wagga, Charles Augustus Blackmore opened a hairdresser and tobacconist business in the Hornsby district.
