Notes

James Henry Blackstone, who moved to Arkansas, was my great- great grandfather. He was deaf, probably from the Civil War, and he was hit by a train near Little Rock, AR, in 1886 at the age of 50. His wife and his daughter, Martha, also died later in 1886. James Henry's son, James Henry, Jr. died in 1879 supposedly from being kicked in the belly by a mule (info passed down over the generations). I think I read somewhere that Samuel Mack Blackstone did end up in Arkansas. James Henry, Sr. son, William Robert Blackstone, was basically last one alive at age 13 in 1886. He ended up in the Austin, TX, area not long after, and that branch of the Blackstone family has revolved around the Austin area to current times. The 1850 census shows James Henry Blackstone's parents were John H. Blackstone and Malisa Blackstone, both born in circa 1812 and from South Carolina. In 1850, they were living in Cobb County, Georgia. Like every other Blackstone that traces back to a John Blackstone from South Carolina, I want to know which John is my ancestor and who his parents were... commented by Gage Blackstone
