Biography
Joseph was born in 1865 and died in 1924. The eldest son of Joseph Blackstone and Elizabeth Godrich and known as to the family as "Willy", he married Florence Hayward in 1891.
Although qualifying as a Doctor (MRCP) and living in London he did not practice and he was later described as "very likeable but quite unable to settle at any job".
In the 1911 census he was classified as "living off private means".
