Biography

Lawson A. Blackwelder served in the Mexican War 1847-1848 and the American Civil War 1861-1865. During the Civil War, He served the Confederate States as a commissary officer in Charlotte, NC. After the war, he joined the Charlotte police department and served with distinction until his retirement.
