Biography

She placed a death notice for her sister Agnes in the Sydney Morning Herald on 10/6/1872.

There was a death notice for her husband in The Sydney Morning Herald 7/10/1872 presumably by Jessie. He died at home.

NSW Registry of Deaths records her names as Jessie B presumably the B is for Blackwood. Her father's name was Hew and her mother was Janet.

Her father was Hugh Blackwood of Ayreshire. Ref www.frankmurray.com.au

She left an estate valued at 123,126 pounds which was bequeathed to her children. Her sons were to receive the rural properties but this presented a problem for her daughters as this formed the bulk of the estate. The matter went to court in June 1904 as there were questions regarding the construction of the will and how income of the residuary estate should be treated. In August 1905 and it was agreed that on the 20th anniversary of her death 03/6/1923 her daughters and their issue were to receive 73,500 pounds from the estate.
