Mrs. Carol Joan Sneegas, 78, of St. Pauls, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
She was born Dec. 11, 1931, in Cloud County, Kan., to the late James M. and Edna Mae Blackwood. Mrs. Sneegas was an active member of the St. Pauls VFW Post No. 12025 Ladies Auxiliary and served as chaplain for the U.S. Power Squadron, Fayetteville chapter. She possessed a keen interest and curiosity in all things. Her legacy is her love of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Molly Sneegas Pfeiffer; and brothers, Frank and Loral Blackwood.
Mrs. Sneegas is survived by her husband of 59 years, Carl E. Sneegas; daughter, Dr. Janiece Sneegas and her husband, Dr. Mark Klein; son, Mark Sneegas and his wife, Karla; grandchildren, Hannah Klein, Matthew and Martin Pfeiffer and Gretchen and Jonathan Sneegas; sisters, Glyde Clark and Nadine Shara; six nieces and nephews; and her great-nieces and great-nephews.
