Hubert John Blaeser was born on the 29th of March 1903 in Elrosa, Minnesota to Bernard Blaeser and Kathryn Retterath.[1]

Hubert Blaeser, 87, Mahnomen, died Tuesday, May 15, 1990, in the Mahnomen Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Mahnomen. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer services, and after 10 a.m. Friday in Mattson Funeral Home, Mahnomen.

Hubert Blaeser was born March 29, 1903, in Elrosa, Minn., the son of Ben and Kathryn Blaeser. He moved as a child to the Mahnomen area, where he married Winifred Doerfler Jan. 31, 1933. They moved in 1934 to McIntosh, Minn., where the owned and operated a bar and restaurant and returned to Mahnomen in 1941 to farm until retiring in the early 1960s. He also worked at Roy's Garage in Mahnomen during World War II, worked in construction for Palmer Nelson and worked at the Mahnomen Pool Hall. He was a police officer in Mahnomen for 20 years.

Survivors are his wife, son, Kenneth, Mahnomen; daughter, Jeanine (Mrs. Leonard) Biagini, St. Paul; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and brothers, Norbert, Fernley, Nev., Tony, Mahnomen, and Pete, Detroit Lakes, Minn.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
