Charles was born in 1888. He is the son of John Blain and Georgina McFarlane.

MR. C. BLAIN THE death occurred at Terang Community Hospital last Sunday of Mr. Charles Blain, of Cowley's Creek, after an illness which extended over some years. The late Mr. Blain was born at Kolora 60 years ago, a son of the late John and Georgina Blain. After his marriage to Miss Lily Rowley, of Kolora (daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Rowley, now of Terang), he went to live at Framlingham for a couple of years, and then took over a dairy farm' at Cowley's Creek, where he resided until the time of his death. He leaves his widow, four sons - Robert (Melbourne), Alan (Heywood), Ron and Athol (Cowley's Creek)—and 11-year old daughter Janet, to mourn his passing. Brothers and sisters of the late Mr. Blain are Joseph (King Island). Thomas (Glenormis- ton), John, George (The Sisters) Annie (Surrey Hills), Jessie (Caulfield),. Flora (Mrs. Lee, Elsternwick), Nellie (Noorat), Ethel (Mrs. Fletcher, Montrose), and Claude (Ayrford). The funeral was to the Terang cemetery on Monday, after a ser- vice at Noorat Presbyterian Church, at which Rev. Fraser Sutherland officiated. The coffin was born by deceased's four sons, and the pall by Messrs. J. Golsworthy, J. Currell, C. Till, A. W. Noel. W. McConnell, F. Grinter, A. Clifford and W. Hickey. Rev. Fraser Suther- land read the burial service.
