Kathleen Annie Blair was born on 25 Jun 1910 at Glenwhirry, County Antrim, Ireland.[1] Kathleen was the fifth child born to John Blair and his wife Jessie Jamieson when he was one of four Scottish gamekeepers on the estate at Kilwaughter, in the Glens of Antrim. She was just a few months old when the family returned to Kilbirnie and her father became foreman at the slag fertiliser plant associated with Glengarnock Steelworks. The family lived at Janefield Terrace, Kilbirnie [2]until about 1915 when they moved to a smaller house in Whitevale Terrace as her father had joined the army in Sep 1914.
In 1927 when she was age 16, she and all but one of her living siblings emigrated from Glasgow on the ship S.S. Cameronia, arriving in New York 5 April 1927.[3]
She lived with her mother and younger siblings in Valley Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[4]
She married Tony Uhrik, owner of a Trucking company in 1933.[5]
She visited her relations in Angus, Scotland in the 1930's and again in June 1961 for the graduation of her nephew at the University of St Andrews.
She divorced about 1950 and married secondly Llewellan Laws (1908–1978), a school teacher / construction worker.[6]
She died without issue at age 51 in 1962 [7] and was buried in All Saints Episcopal Church Cemetery, Torresdale, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
