When Jesse Blair was born on January 9, 1776, in Guilford, North Carolina, his father, William, was 38 and his mother, Mary, was 39. He married Rebecca Ellington in 1804 in Montgomery, Kentucky. They had nine children in 21 years. He died in June 1864 having lived a long life of 88 years, and was buried in Johnson, Kentucky.
