Biography

William Blair was born about August 1775, son of John Blair and Jean Gamble.[1] William's family history or pedigree was listed on a March 12, 1951 Sons of the American Revolution Application by his great-grandson, James Thomas Blair II (1902-1962).[2]

William married Sarah "Sallie" Annie (Simmons) Blair (1780-1849) on December 18, 1803 in Roane County Tennessee.[3]

In the 1840 census William was living in Roane, Tennessee. The census record shows the following in household:[4]

  • Males: 10-15 yrs: 1, 20-30 yrs: 1, 60-70 yrs: 1
  • Females: 5-10 yrs: 1, 15-20 yrs: 2, 50-60 yrs: 1

William died in March 1843 and was buried in Loudon, Loudon, Tennessee.[1]
