For some reason, I entered my grandmother's name into a search engine. The first (and perhaps only real) match was from wikitree. I hadn't heard of it before. About 30 years ago, I extensively researched my family tree. I typed it into an ASCII file (before I had access Microsoft Word and such, I believe) and distributed copies to my aunts/uncles and siblings. Once I started to reenter it into a family tree program, but didn't get very far. I love that wikitree is free. I feel I just found a home for my research. I would love to add it, so others can make use of it. I have read the mission and nine simple rules and love them. I benefitted from others' research. I'd love to share mine.
