Biography

This profile is part of the Elkins Name Study.

Deborah Blake was daughter of Jasper and Deborah (Dalton) Blake of Hampton. [1] [2][3]

Deborah married in Hampton on December 31, 1673, Eleazer Elkins, son of Henry and Mary Elkins, born about 1648, , presumably in Exeter, New Hampshire. [1]

Jasper Blake, Deborah's father, wrote his will on July 18, 1673, in it naming daughter Deborah, then unmarried. [Essex Co., MA Probate Files, and Norfolk Co., MA Deeds, Vol. 2. p 324] On Nov. 10, 1679, Deborah's brothers , Timothy and John Blake as administrators of Jasper's estate, affirmed that Deborah, wife of Eleazer Elkins, has received her part and said Eleazor Elkins has provided a receipt for her inheritance. [4]

Their children are known through a deed, dated 14 October 1708, in which "Thomas Bigsby of Andover [Massachusetts] in right of my wife Deborah, daughter of Eliazer Elkins, late of Exeter, deceased, and Jasper Elkins and Abiah Elkins, for 10 pounds to each...to our brother Samuel Elkins of Exeter.. .all that part of our father's estate... (Rockingham County Deeds, 14:340-341). [2]

This is an 'isolated profile' -- no dates, no relationships. This is often the result of a skipped profile in a gedcom download. Maybe it just needs to be attached to the tree somewhere, If there is no other information available, please consider merging it into a profile of a similar name in an effort to rid WikiTree of these 'isolated profiles.' Thank you!
