Rev. Dominick Edward Blake, Sr. of Kiltegan, County Wicklow, Ireland, was born about 1772[1], born to an influential Irish family centered in Galway[2]. He joined the Church of England clergy, eventually serving 19 years as Rector for Kiltegan Parish. He passed away 2 Oct 1823, with this inscription on his memorial stone:[3]
To the memory of
The Revd. Dominick Edward Blake
who during a period of 19 years
Was the beloved and venerated Rector
of this parish.
His affectionate and afflicted parishioners
have erected this monument as a testimony
of their deep sense of his worth
and of their grief for his loss.
He fell asleep in Jesus Oct. 2nd, 1823
in the 51st year of his age.
