Biography
Birth
Zechariah Blakeman was born on May 26, 1678 in Stratford, Fairfield, Connecticut, son of James Blackman (1647–1705) and Miriam Wheeler (1647–>1693).
Family
Zachariah (26) married Elizabeth Denman (24) (born in July, 1680 in Derby, New Haven, Connecticut; daughter of Philip Denman and Hasadiah (Slough) Denman) on December 24, 1704 in Derby, New Haven, CT. [1]Their children were:
- Mary Blakeman (1705–1773)
- Elizabeth Blakeman (1708–1747)
- James Blakeman (1713–1791)
- Zechariah Blakeman Jr. (1720-1779)
After the death of his wife Elizabeth, Zachariah (55) married Dinah Thomas (54) widow of John Sherman, (born on December 26, 1678 in New Haven, Colonial America; daughter of Daniel Thomas and Rebecca (Thompson) Perkins) on June 19, 1733.
Death
Zachariah died before March 5, 1765 in Stratford, aged 86.[2]
His will is dated 10 March 1752 and proved on 5 March 1765 in Fairfield. He mentions his two sons, James, and Zachariah (both of Stratford), and his daughter Mary Coe, wife of Ebenezer Coe.
