Beryl M. Cochrun, 97, of Alma, formerly of Carson City and Ionia, died Tues., Aug. 13, 2002 at Gratiot Community Hospital. Beryl was born May 31, 1905 in Carson City, the daughter of Charles and Adelaide (Baker) Blakeslee. She married Ezra Cochrun on Aug. 14, 1924 in Carson City.
Beryl was a 1922 graduate of Carson City High School and was a life member of the Carson City Order of the Eastern Star #271. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ionia and served as the secretary of the American Cancer Society in Ionia, retiring at 81.
She is survived by two sons, Donald (Kathleen) Kehren of Lansing and Robert (Donna) Cochrun of St. Johns; daughter, Marilyn (Dr. John) Grigg of Bay City; daughter-in-law, Sally Kehren of Rochester; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Gloria (Jack) Brundage of Crystal and Betty (Robert) Saxton of Laingsburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ezra Cochrun; sons, Wilfred and Raymond Cochrun; five brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday at the Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home in Carson City with Rev. Martin Cobb officiating. Interment will be in Carson City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service, Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Pathways, 1200 Wright Ave., Alma MI 48801.
