When Amasa Blakesley was born on January 15, 1747/8, in Waterbury, Connecticut, his father, John, was 23 and his mother, Olive, was 18. [1] He married Esther Barker on August 29, 1781, in his hometown. [2] They had five children in 10 years. He died on July 31, 1782, in his hometown at the age of 35. [3][4]
