Francois Blanchard was born 31 Oct 1738. He was the son of François Blanchard and Marguerite Carré. He was baptized 17 May 1740 at St-Pierre du Nord, Ile St-Jean, Acadia. His godparents were Abraham Arceno and Rose Commeau.
He married Marie Devaud [sic], daughter of Charles Devaud and the late Anne Doucet at Isle St Jean and had the marriage confirmed 19 Aug 1765 at Miquelon. Francois' mother was also deceased at the time of his wedding.
