Biography

When Micajah Henry Bland was born on 7 November 1828, in Washington, Georgia, United States, his father, Simeon Bland, was 31 and his mother, Elizabeth Hodges, was 26.

He married Sarah Louisa Prosser on 23 December 1852, in Baldwin, Georgia, United States. They were the parents of Augustus, John O., Samuel Johnson, and Henry Micahah.

He registered for military service in 1862 and fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War as a Private in Company C, 49th Georgia Infantry Regiment.

He died two months later in Richmond, Virginia on June 20, 1862 at the age of 33, and was buried in Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, Virginia.
