Research Notes

It is uncertain where the belief arose that a woman named Judith Bland married 1st Henry Randolph and 2nd Giles Webb. This is totally inaccurate. There is no evidence that a person called Judith Bland ever existed. The woman who married both Henry Randolph and Giles Webb was Sarah Swann. She married 1st Henry Randolph II (1665-1693) in 1687^[1] and 2nd Giles Webb, b c 1670 and d 1713, about 1699 in Henrico County, Virginia.^[2]

There are two profiles for Judith Bland, Bland-25 and Bland-3596 which were merged and then probably categorized as "Disproven Existence." Both these profiles are being unlinked from Giles Webb and Giles Webb and any children of Giles Webb.

Biography

Judith Bland did not marry (1) Henry Randolph, Jr., Clerk of Henrico county. Virginia (2) Giles Webb, died 1713. The source cited here states only that Giles Webb married the widow (unnamed) of Henry Randolph.^[3]

Research Notes

I found as many references to suggest Judith Bland, her family, and her aforementioned spouses do indeed exist. I find myself wondering where the references for Sarah Swan are stated and why she has not been added as the mother of the Webb children. The above statement about baptisms occurs a century too late to suggest association with Judith and her two aledged husbands. Putting the information in all caps won't make it pertinent to this case.
