Bob & Polly, negro man & wm. to S. Christie, Dec. 17, 1840, $630.00
It appears that Polly and Bob continued to be with a Presley Bland descendant through 1851.
There is also a record of employment for a Bob Bland in the U.S., Freedmen's Bureau Records, which is an article of agreement between Johnson A Bland (son of Avory, grandson of Presley Bland) and the Freedmen, including Bob Bland, as laborers in the plantation of J.A. Bland from January 1, 1867 to January 1, 1868. J. A. Bland agrees to treat his employees with kindness and to see that they have due attention in sickness, to furnish each family with comfortable quarters and rations, and in addition to this, to pay to Bob Bland fifty dollars.
