Hi Jean

We all did a great job last weekend, thank you, for a job well done, we hope you had fun. The total for the event was 100,934 profiles created and sourced to build the tree. Mighty Oaks teams contributed 9,592. Thank you for working with us, to improve the worldwide tree. See you for the next Thon on Apr 11-14: Connect-a-Thon XIV see https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1810122/when-are-the-big-wikitree-events-in-2025

Joan, Janet and Maddy

Thank you very much. I enjoyed it but I'm afraid I didn't contribute as many connections as I'd hoped. I'm afraid I got caught up with a) actually breaking through a brick wall, b) finding an ancestor with a fascinating story, and c) though lovely, unexpected family visits.

Hopefully I'll get more done next time.

I'm sorry I haven't been very active lately, with health issues and some other things I've needed to take care of. I'm very happy to stay on the team and hoping to get back into the swing again soon.

Hello Jean,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Erin ~ WikiTree Pre-1700 Greeter

Thank you very much, Erin.

I shall certainly follow your advice - and I know that taking OT2 when a TB is available will be a big help.

I only became seriously interested in researching my family in 2017, when an LDS friend compiled a family tree for me. I've later discovered that unfortunately not all the entries were correct. For my part, I didn't save sources until quite recent and that is something I bitterly regret, as I now search again for them.

My interests include genealogy, reading, writing, editing and proof reading, family, history, very amateur photography.

Welcome to WikiTree, Jean!

We are so pleased you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.

Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.

Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.

Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.
