Obituary

The Franklin Democrat, Friday, May 24, 1889, Volume XXIX, Number 48, page 4 column 2. [4]

CHRISTIAN CHAPEL ~ Lavina, wife of Fielden Taylor, died at her home on Sunday morning May the 12th at 2 o’clock of blood poison. Mrs. Taylor was thirty-four years of age, and leaves a husband and five small children to mourn the loss of a dear wife and mother. She was a member of the church at this place having made the noble confession some three years ago. The funeral services were held at Beech Grove Baptist church just south of here on Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock conducted by Elder Nesslage, pastor of the Christian church at Franklin. The discourse was listened to by a large and attentive audience. At the close of the services the body was carried to the graveyard just back of the church and laid in the cold and silent grave, there to lie and rest in sweet and silent slumber until called forth to meet Jesus on the resurrection morn.
