Biography

Silas L Blann was born in 1794 in Jasper, Georgia. He had 11 children with Elizabeth Ann Averytt. Silas died on April 2, 1858, in Dallas, Alabama, at the age of 64, and was buried at Bell Cemetery, Dallas County, Alabama.

From Find A Grave: Silas L Blann and his siblings migrated from Jasper County, Georgia to Dallas County, Alabama in the late 1810's. Siblings that migrated with him were his two brothers Stephen A. Blann and Thomas Blann and one sister Tabitha Telitha Blann. They migrated with the William Henry "Harry" Averytt family. Both Silas Blann and Tabitha Blann had married into that family.

Silas Blann and Elizabeth Ann Averytt had 11 children that survived to adulthood. Some of his children migrated to western Mississippi and to Calhoun County, Arkansas.

Probate of the will is recorded in Abstract of Probate Court Minutes Volume 3 referring to Book K page 169, 191, 207, 244, 287, 562, 1858 Will of Silas Blann list his heirs as the children of Laura and B. F. Graves, the children of W. H. Blann, Tebitha, wife of T. H. Booth, Francis Jones, Asenath, wife of T. J. Parnell, Alfred Blann, Thomas W. Blann, Mary wife of Chas Johnson, Susan, Wife of L M. Booth, Silas L. Blann, and Stephen Blann. (Dallas County AL 1860 Estate Book L Page 96)
