At Cheltenham, after a long and painful illness, aged 46, John Blanshard, esq. late Commander of the E.I.C.'s ships Carnatic and Marquis Wellington. He was brother to Richard Blanshard, esq. F.R.S. and S.A. and great-grandson of the celebrated Antiquary, Roger Gale, of Scruton, esq.[1]
There is a memorial commemorating John Blanshard in Holy Trinity Church, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.
