Born December 5, 1919 in Beal City, MI, the son of the late Herman and [Henrietta] (Voisin) Blasen, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at age 96. Raymond served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the Motor Wheel Corporation in 1979. He enjoyed woodworking and could be found in his woodshop building toys for his grandchildren. He was especially proud of the home he built in East Lansing. He is preceded in death by his wife Lillian and their 4 children: Joannie, Doug, Edward and Clark. Surviving are 4 children: Bernadette (Robert) Beardsley, Roy Blasen, Earl Blasen and Mary (Charles) Bridenbaker, 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, a great great grandson, a sister Irene Smith, a brother Howard (Anna) Blasen and many loving nieces and nephews. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Mark Inglot presiding. Rite of committal will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday 5-8PM at the Palmer Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel, 520 E. Mt. Hope where the Vigil will prayed at 7:00PM. Visitation continues Thursday at the church, beginning at 10:00AM. Condolences can be made at www.palmerbush.com.
