Albert Dodd Blashfield was an illustrator. He was born in New York 31st July 1860. His parents were William Henry and Eliza Dodd, and he had a brother Edwin Howland Blashfield. He was educated at Brooklyn Collegiate and Polytechnic Institute and Alexander Mil. Institute. He studied art at Artists' Students' League, New York. His speciality was illustration of periodicals. He lived in Brooklyn and died on February 8 1920.

This information taken from the British Museum Catalogue of Printed Books to 1955, Vol 3 Incidentally, Albert's brother Edwin Howland was a leading proponent of the mural movement that swept across the United States from about 1890 to 1914.
