Research Notes
More research is needed to untangle the complicated relationships. Amanda was a widowed mother of three with only Ernest surviving on the 1900 and 1910 census. The stepson George Crouse is a mystery. Was George Blauser married previous to Amanda Jane? Or is Jane another wife, who had previously married a Mr. Crouse? Are Amanda Jane and Jane/Jennie the same person? The likelihood is that they are the same because 1920 census shows George's mother-in-law Elizabeth "Frey" Fry is living with Jennie and George.
