Biography

James was born in 1765. He was the son of William Blatch and Grace Goodenough.

There exists a record of a marriage (1791) between one James Batch and an Elizabeth Sweetapple, and this may have been a first marriage for James. However, no record has been found for the death of that Elizabeth, so she is not included on this profile. In any case Elizabeth (Devenish) Blatch was undoubtedly the mother of his children. James passed away in 1843.
