Thomas and Rachel were listed on the 1860 US Federal Census along with sons Samuel (age 2; 1858) and Hamilton (age 9; 1851). The family was residing in the Town of Haverstraw, Rockland, New York, United States.[3]
Thomas and Rachel had eight children - but by 1900, only four were still living: [5]
Thomas died on February 18, 1905 in New York. He was interred at Mt. Repose Cemetery, Haverstraw, New York - Plot 247. [6]
Military Service
Thomas served in the Civil War as a Corporal in Company D - Seventeenth (17th) New York Infantry. He enlisted in Stoney Point, Rockland, New York on 8 Jul 1863.[1][7]
