Biography

Charles Harmony Blay was born on 4 Sep 1851 in New South Wales, Australia to parents George Blay and Esther (Hester) Cruise. He married Jessie Alders in 1877 in Taralga, Australia. Children: Ada May, George Williams, Lydia Esther, James Harmony, Beatrice Gertrude, Charles Joseph, Edward Wallace, John Thomas, Henry Angus, Harold Agnus. He died on 27 Aug 1924 in Taralga, Australia.

In 1891 he was living in Goulbourn, Argyle, New South Wales, Australia.

Obituary: "DEATH AT MYRTLEVILLE Mr. Charles Harmony Blay, a well known resident of Myrtleville, died at his residence on Wednesday last, aged 78 years. Some time ago, writes our Taralga correspondent, Mr. Blay had a new severe bout with sickness which left him in a weak state of health, but lately he seemed much better and hopes were entertained of his complete recovery. Last week, however, he was not so well, and he suddenly collapsed. The deceased spent the greater part of his life in this district and in conjunction with his sons, successfully carried on dairying. He is survived by a widow, six sons, and one daughter. Three of the sons, Mrssrs. J. H. Blay, Harold and Edward are residents of this district, the other three living in Sydney. Mr. George Blay, a well-known resident of Crockwell, is a brother, and Mrs. J. R. Keith, a sister. the remains were interred in the C. of E. cemetery at Stone Quarry, the funeral being very largely attended. The Rev. P. Bramble conducted the burial service."
