Fridolin Blesi left Schwanden, Switzerland and arrived in New Orleans on January 15, 1854. Then he came to live with relatives in St. Paul.
He married Anna Katharina Streiff in 1858, who also came from Schwanden, Switzerland. In 1863 he purchased land and a home from Francis Thorndike. He farmed the land until 1891, when he moved into into the village of Champlin. His son Emil farmed the land until 1927.
