John Blevins was listed on the 1840 census for Carroll Co., AR. He is listed on the same page of the census as Richard Blevins.
Squire Blevins (age 24 and b. in TN) was listed as the head of a family on the 1850 Census in Milam Co., TX. The following individuals are also household members: Richard Blevins (age 2/12 and b. in TX); Margaret Blevins (age 3 and b. in TX); George W. The information for Squire, John, and Luke Blevins listed on the same page of the 1850 census for Milam Co., TX strongly suggests that they are brothers. The combined information shows their family lived in NC in 1813 where Luke was b. about 1813 but had relocated to TN by 1816 where Squire and John were born. It seems that they were still in TN where Luke’s oldest son was b. in 1830. The John Blevins (b. 1830 in AL) listed with Luke’s family may have been from a different family. Note that Luke Blevins had a son b. in 1830 in TN and the area in Marion Co., TN where I suspect this family lived is on the border of AL. The John Blevins b. in AL is likely from a different family, but it is possible he is a son. Before 1838 the Blevins family had moved to AR where Squire Blevins was on the tax roll for Carroll Co., AR. John Blevins had a son b. in TX in 1846 suggesting that the three brothers had relocated to TX some time between 1841 and 1846. The migration pattern for these apparent brothers corresponds to that of Richard Blevins. Richard Blevins was living in Marion Co., TN in 1818, but had moved to AR by 1831. Richard may have died before his sons moved to TX.
