GOMILLION, Yvonne - of Detroit, age 70, died Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at her residence. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 1PM Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3300 W. Chicago Blvd., Detroit.

Yvonne was born August 9, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Matthew and Ruthie Mae (Wells) Blevins. She graduated from Detroit Mumford High School in 1964. Ms. Gomillion retired from General Motors in 2004 with 26 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #909. Yvonne was a member of Dexter Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness for 26 years. She was certified as a work and life representative and substance abuse counselor. Yvonne enjoyed reading, writing poetry, writing articles for the Local Union Newspaper, and working as a Mary Kay Consultant. She also loved sports, especially University of Michigan Football.

Surviving are: Children: Anthony Gomillion, Roy (Kim) Gomillion, Ronald (Rebecca) Gomillion, and Sean (Merideth) Gomillion; Grandchildren: Lasondra Hamilton, Antonio Bradley, Faith Gomillion, Dwayne Gomillion II, Ronald Gomillion II, Roy Gomillion V, Kayla Gomillion, Ryan Gomillion, Deandre Simmons, and Sean Gomillion Jr., Seth Thibeault; 3 great grandchildren; Brothers: James Blevins, and Matthew (Daisy) Blevins; Sisters: Betty Davis, Mae Taylor, and Martha (Bart) Capers. She was also preceded in death by her son, Dwayne Gomillion, and sister, Nora Benning.
