The 1920 Census[4] shows her at age 23 with her husband and three sons in Civil District 9, Washington County, Tennessee. The census enumerator erred when recording this family, by putting the surname as Allen instead of Maupin. But examining the names, ages, dates, relationships, locations, and occupation it becomes obvious that this is the family of Willis Allen Maupin, not Willis Allen.
The 1930 Census[5] shows her at age 37 with her husband and six children in the 9th Civil District of Washington County, Tennessee.
Bessie appears with her husband in the 1932 Johnson City, Tennessee City Directory, page 252, at King Spring rd (R D 5).[6]
The 1940 Census[7] shows her at age 49 with her husband and five sons in Civil District 9, Washington County, Tennessee.
She died in 1951, and is buried at the Boones Creek Christian Church Cemetery in Johnson City, Washington County, Tennessee.[8]
