Metz-895 and Blieskastel-2 appear to represent the same person because: I believe this is the same person. Same birth year, just a year off on DOD
Metz-895 and Blieskastel-2 do not represent the same person because: originator only should do merging upon verification

Truly, I understand that only the originator should be merging these two profiles. Again, I stress that they are indeed the same, the only difference is the DOD is one year off, and in genealogy, we know that the dates are not 100% accurate. Look at the sources.

D´Herbomez, A. (ed.) (1898) Cartulaire de l´abbaye de Gorze, Mettensia II (Paris) ("Gorze"), 114, p. 207. Accessed 12 October 2021 at: Charles Cawley: Medieval Lands, Lotharingian (Upper) Nobility: (grandson of) Folmar de Metz. Folmer III had 3 sons, FOLMAR [IV], STEFAN, and RICHILDE

I show him as father of Folmar IV, and son of Gottfried (spelling varies a lot) both just of Metz. His mother is Judith of Luxembourg. Birth date around 1045.
