BLIGH, James George, Jr. James George Bligh, Jr., 83, of Highland Lake Rd., died Saturday, (September, 10, 2005) at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. He was the husband of Margaret J. (Sawicki) Bligh. Mr. Bligh was born in Daytona Beach, FL, January 5, 1922, son of the late James G. and Elizabeth (Knaepel) Bligh. A World War II, US Army veteran, he was a member of the Torrington American Legion Post, the Elks club and Seneca Masonic Lodge AF and AM. He had been employed as a Purchasing Agent for Torin Corp for many years. In addition to his wife of Torrington, he is survived by a son, Gilbert Bligh and his wife Katherine of Southington; a daughter, Paula Bertrand of Cromwell; a brother, L. Robert Bligh of Bangor, ME; and two grandchildren. A graveside burial service will be Friday, Sept. 16, 12:30 p.m. at Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call at the Nutting-Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Rd., Litchfield on Thursday, Sept. 15 from 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 372 Danbury Rd., Wilton, CT 06897 or the American Lung Association, 45 Ash St., East Hartford, CT 06108.
