Biography

Francis Bligh, son of Richard Bligh and his wife, Jane Cock was born about 1720 and was christened on 7 March 1721 at St. Tudy, Cornwall, England. [1]

Francis Bligh was married three times. He married,

  • 1) Jane Balsam on 4 October 1753 at St. Andrew's, Plymouth, Devon, England.[2]
    Francis and Jane had one son together, William Bligh b. 9 September 1754.
  • 2) Martha Bury on May 27, 1770[3]
    There are no known children from this marriage.
  • 3) Judith Welsh, widow, on the 2nd day of August 1777.[4]
    There are no known children from this marriage.

Francis Bligh died on 27 December 1780 and was buried on the 30th day of December 1780.[5][6]
