Parentage; Date and Place of Birth

The fact that Richard Blinman had a daughter named Hannah is established by Richard's will in which he made a bequest to "my son in-law John Wadland & to my Daughter Hanah his wife and to their child now living."^[1][2] Hannah's mother would have been Richard's wife, Mary.^[3]

Hannah's date and place of birth are uncertain. Based on her date of marriage (1679), she was probably born sometime in 1654-1661, with about 1658 being a reasonable midpoint estimate. Since her father was living in New London, Connecticut in 1650-1657, in New Haven, Connecticut in 1558-9, and in Bristol, England after mid-1659,^[3] Hannah could have been born in any of those places.

Hannah married John Wadland August 14, 1679 in Weare Giffard, Devon, England.^[4]

Hannah and John had the following children:

• William, bpt. December 23, 1680 in Bideford, d. July 20, 1684 in Bideford^[5]
• Richard, b. June 13, 1682 in Bideford, d. April 11, 1685 in Bideford^[6]
• William, bpt. November 15, 1685 in Bideford^[7]

Death

Hannah's date and place of death are unknown. Since the last known record for her is the baptism of her son William in Bideford on November 15, 1685, she died sometime after that date, most likely in or near Bideford.
